About Dylan Reinhart
First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to look over my site and reaching this little about me section. I was born and raised in Ventura, California for most of my life living very briefly in San Luis Obispo in the late 90s early 2000s. My family being very tight-knit and open-minded gave me a wonderful creative learning environment in my upbringing. At an early age my family always strongly encouraged any creative pursuits and it was then that my inner artist started to sprout. I was constantly drawing, painting, and making anything I could, it was a never-ending arts and crafts class. This continuous play of the arts continued in my academics as well and throughout public school and into college I took any art class I could get my hands on. Taking courses with a main emphasis on drawing and painting I also took classes in sculpture, ceramics, three-dimensional art, photography, and other visual media. Even now I continue my educational pursuit, after obtaining my bachelor’s in art, to eventually learn the craft of art conservation and restoration. I am always one to continue to learn new crafts that I do not have the know-how to do purely out of curiosity and the pursuit of knowledge so to me it only made sense to learn the skill of tattooing.
In my early 20s, I was given the opportunity to learn the craft of tattooing. Growing up I was never raised with a negative stigma towards those with tattoos and I was very curious about them. Being the “artistic type” I had many people telling me I should go into tattooing and finally one day I started that journey. For me, I wanted to learn how to tattoo because it was an amazing form of self-expression for myself as the artist as well as those getting tattoos. The more I learned the craft the more I understood not only are tattoos a form of expressiveness but can come from a place of empowerment, healing, growing oneself and just having fun with their body. Constantly I felt very honored to be able to be part of such a historical and profound form of human individualism.
The types of tattooing that I thoroughly enjoy the most are color work and animation styles such as cartoons, anime, and pixel. When I work with color I feel so much happiness and it is then that I truly feel like an artist painting on my canvas. I greatly enjoy working on most pop-culture topics such as movies, TV shows, video games, etc. I also love projects involving animals, pinups, oddities, and Japanese themes. I am always open to other topics of interest and styles as my main goal is to make sure my client has a positive experience. In my practice, it is one of my top priorities to make sure my clients feel safe, seen, and comfortable when in my chair no matter what they are getting, where they are getting it, or who they are. All are welcome!
I am currently working at White Lotus Body Arts, and you can see all of my latest work on my Instagram page. If you would like to talk about your next tattoo, please reach out to me.
